Maria Soupou is a counselling psychologist and psychotherapist. She studied psychology (BA) at the American College of Greece – Deree College and completed her postgraduate studies in counselling psychology (MSc) at City University in the UK. She was trained in psychodynamic therapy (Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling & Therapy in the Community) at the Manor House Center for Psychotherapy and Counselling in the UK. She continues her professional training by attending seminars at the Hellenic Society of Phenomenological – Existential Analysis and Psychotherapy. She is a licensed psychologist and a member of the Association of Greek Psychologists.
For numerous years, Maria Soupou worked as a psychotherapist in private practice and as a managing director at the Center for Life (Kentro Zois), a non-governmental organization providing psychosocial services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Between
2008 and 2012, she participated as a mental health professional in three missions with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Greece. At present, she is working in private practice offering individual counselling and psychotherapy to adults and adolescents. She is also available for phone and skype sessions.
